Signing up as an administrator? No problem
Membership is restricted to GPs only, but a clinic administrator or manager can be the manager of the clinic membership.
When you purchase the clinic membership as an administrator, fill in your own details (not the details of the clinic owner or GP).
Do not check the “Take up a seat” box. You will be able to manage the clinic’s billing, and add or remove clinic members. You will not have access to the GP forum or other members-only areas.

This is the first time in living history that general practitioners have created an organisation to represent the profession by giving us our own united and independent voice.
Group members will have all the same benefits as a regular member:
- Members are eligible to vote in the Board election for their representatives, who will shape policy.
- Members are eligible to be nominated for Board positions.
- Members have a constitutionally protected voice with a clear process of how that voice is represented.
- Members can take part in GPA campaigning as much or as little as they wish.
As the membership manager for your team, you will have the ability to:
- Purchase and cancel memberships at the discounted team price
- Reassign membership “seats” if GPs join or leave your clinic
Once you have purchased your team membership, you can add yourself as a member, and send invitations to your team.
Who can join?
All practising GPs in Aotearoa New Zealand can join, including GPs who are:
- Fellows
- Registrars
- Clinic owners
- Employees
- Contractors
- Overseas trained
Membership fee dates
All memberships renew on April 1 each year.
The first year of your membership is prorated. So you will only have to pay a part fee for your first part-year of membership.
For example if you sign up in October, you will only pay 50% of the regular fee. Your membership will renew on April 1, when you will pay a full year’s membership.
